Background:
Chittagong the second largest and most densely populated city of Bangladesh, with almost 10.0 million people out of the nation’s total population of 160.0 million. Chittagong is the economic and commercial zone of the country. The population of the city is increasing rapidly and expected to be double in size over the next few years.
For this ever increasing population there is huge scarcity of residential and commercial accommodation as well as social and amusement facilities both in public and private area. Though Chittagong is the second largest city there is shortage of standard accommodation and commercial residential facility in Chittagong. NHA has proposed the project to add this issue as well as to have its own office building in Chittagong.
Objective:
The objectives of this project are:
  • To minimize the acute housing problems with maximum accommodation on small land in a planned way.
  • To provide urban facilities and develop planned growth and human settlement with modern facilities.
  • To provide ownership of a residential flat to middle and high income group within their affordable limit.
  • To introduce modern technologies and materials in construction industry.
  • To reduce drastically the construction period by introducing modern technics.
Project Scope:
The project consists of 03 (there) zones:
Zone 01: There is one 10 (ten) storied office building for NHA Chittagong, four numbers of different sized residential building and a mosque for NHA official.
Zone 02: Quite a good number of 2850 sft. Apartments as well as various facilities like community hall room, multipurpose hall room, library, games room, Children play area, health club/gym, Spa. Swimming pool, day care center, health clinic, space for senior citizen etc. are proposed in 30 (thirty) storied building.
Zone 03: There is ten storied complex od various facilities such as car parking, shopping mall, convention center, amusement facilities including food court, movie theater, game zone, international standard gym and spa, auditorium for seminar workshop and commercial space for bank, hotel, financial institution, training center, buying house etc.

Status:
The project is currently in the Procurement Stage, and KPMG Advisory Services Private Limited serving as the Transaction Advisor. A letter to be sent to the contracting authority for refunding of PPPTAF.
