Background: |
Chattogram is a 500-year-old city. All the wastes from here fall into the Bay of Bengal through the Karnaphuli and Halda rivers which is harmful for the environment and human health. Work has already begun on the first catchment of our sewerage master plan. Donor agencies are also working on feasibility studies to finance the remaining five catchments. The Chattogram WASA is implementing the 6th phase of sewage treatment Plant under Public Private Partnership (PPP) with government to government financing by Japan.

Build an environment-friendly sanitation system at Patenga and adjacent areas in Chattogram

Project Scope: |
Under the project, the sewage waste will be treated by the Sewage treatment Plant. The water waste will be collected from all the residences of the city excepting the rain water. It will be collected through pipeline to the sewerage treatment Plant where compost will be produced. |
