In Chittagong Port, there are two new terminal under developments-the Patenga Container Terminal (PCT) and bay Container Terminal (BCT) . PCT is expected to start operations in 2024 with an additional capacity of up to 0.5m TEU/pa and will be the pioneer as Chittagong's first privately operated terminal. BCT is the second major investment in the pipeline in Chittagong's port infrastructure the will expand the port's capacity by another 3.0m TEU/pa between 2030 and 2035, and when the project is fully materialized could even cater up to 4.5m TEU/pa. The groundwork for this project has been initiated, evident from the commenced reclamation works, and operations arte expected to start by 2030.
