According to the recent power generation plan of BPDB, about 13,000 MW of coal and LNG based power plant will be installed at Maheshkhali area in several phases and 1320 MW at Banshkhali area by SS Power Ltd. To evacuate this massive power from the upcoming Power Plants to the load centers (Dhaka and Chattogram) high capacity transmission lines will be required from Maheshkhali towards Dhaka and Chattogram. It could be an option to construct 400 kV line from Matarbari to Madunaghat via Banshkhali (1320 MW power plant of SS Power Ltd) under proposed project “Matarbari-Banshkhali-Madunaghat 400 kV Transmission line”. This line will play a great role to enhance the redundancy of Madunaghat-Matarbari 400 kV transmission system as well as power evacuation from Banshkhali 1320 MW power plant.
The major Scope of works of the project:
Matarbari-Banshkhali-Madunaghat 400 kV Transmission line: 100 km
Extension of 400 kV Madunaghat Substation (2 nos. 400 kV GIS bays)
Extension of 400 kV Matarbari Substation (2 nos. 400 kV AIS bays)
The project has been proposed for G2G Korea.
